Welcome to the Club Ikarus (ex-ElGirre) !

We are a group of free flying enthusiasts here in Lanzarote that want to make sure that everyone stays safe and has a fantastic time in the air.

There are a couple of rules that need to be considered for flying safely in windy conditions close to seacliffs and especially together with hang gliders. Please remember, Lanzarote has no paramedics nor a rescue helicopter.

We compiled all information about the starting places, the restrictions and also the flying rules below.

The launch sites in Famara, Mirador and Orzola are located in the nature reserve and you need an authorization which you can obtain by supporting us with an

Ikarus Club membership:

One Year: 50€

One Month: 10€

Commercial Tandem pilots and schools: 100€

The money is used for improving the launch sites and three new weatherstations (Mirador, Risco de Famara, and LaAsomada), which will save everyone a lot of driving ;-).

Please obey the following rules:

- Start and land only in the designated areas.

- Come hooked in and ready to launch quickly! Sort your lines and prepare everything on the beach or on the side!

- only Reverselaunching !!!

- Beware of the strong windgradient!

- Tandempilots have priority!!!

- Respect Hanggliding launch and landing sites. Please do not kite in front of approaching Deltas.

- Do not land in the black farming fields!

- Stay on the dirtroads
